There really is only one thing you can do, and that is to do it. No matter what you do or when you do it, you have to face this fear sooner or later, you must do it today beacuse the first time is the easiest time to do something. Saving it for later will only a build a habit rendering it harder to do the action, you’ll grow a mentality that feeds you with negative mental thoughts, making it even harder. What you could do is mentally prepare, understand that most people in the gym are focusing on themeselves, not you, learn that the fear you face is just the effect of expanding your comfort zone, its a good thing. Lastly, calm your mind, let all thoughts wash away, and deal with those thoughts whilst in the gym. Say, even if you got humiliated, you should happy that you had the bravery to go there, no matter what happens you’ll leave feeling amazing. Now, clear your mind, and do what you want to, because one day you’ll wake up without the time to do the things you've always wanted, so do it now!
