I use guided meditation because I have a hard time getting out of my head. Guided ones help me a lot with that. I find them on YouTube or online from yoga sites.

By staying in the moment as best possible – but the trick is not to fight emerging thoughts but to accept them with compassion. If whatever thought or feeling that comes up is just too overwhelming acknowledge them, and then recenter on your breathing.
Actually making breathing your center is important.
