Yerba mate (or mate) is an herbal tea from the Ilex paraguariensis tree in South America that has an earthy and more bitter flavor than other teas. One cup (237 ml) contains roughly 78 to 80 mg of caffeine, which is similar to the caffeine content in an average cup of coffee ( 17 ).

Your body doesn’t need caffeine. And if at all you need to substitute your coffee, chai or cocoa powder, unsweetened are much better
