What deep work habits would you recommend to me where I feel REALLY motivated, determined, and passionate about my work? I recently just started a new job. Thank you 😊😊😊😊

It helps to reflect on why the work is important and how it influences the bigger picture. You can start with that: reflect on why the project is important and why your contribution is necessary. You won’t feel passionate about every aspect of your job and that’s fine. Regardless of how passionate you feel, the work still needs to be done.

Sit in a quiet place, write down all the tasks you want to do today, then arrange the tasks from hardest to easiest. Then after each task, write how to accomplish it differently, thinking outside of the box, so that the task becomes a game instead of a chore.

Spend your deep work times focusing on what parts of your work you like & are good at and are meaningful to you. That will keep you motivated. Sometimes you will also have to do deep work on the aspects you are less drawn to, but having that balance with what you actually care about & can shine in will keep you balanced & engaged.

I think deep work works best for me when I actually feel connected to what I’m doing. Since I just started this new job, that motivation feels natural, not forced.

What helps most is setting aside time where I can fully focus without distractions. Even a couple of hours, but I treat it seriously. No phone, no scrolling, just the work.

I also make sure I’m clear on what I want to achieve before I start. If the goal is vague, I lose focus. But when it’s clear, I get immersed much faster.

Once I get into a flow state, I try not to break it. That’s usually when I do my best work and actually enjoy the process.

At the same time, I don’t force it when my energy is low. I’d rather rest or do lighter tasks and come back stronger. It’s less about grinding nonstop and more about working with intention.

Since I’m still new, I’m also staying curious and treating everything as a chance to learn, which makes it easier to stay focused and passionate.
