How to do your exercise when you are continuously demotivated?

Start with something really small that you know you can be successful at. Or try to get someone to join you. I also tell myself to remember how good I feel afterwards.

I meet a friend 3 times a week to take long walks. Other days my dog gets me out. I started buying kitty litter at Costco and I couldn't lift the container, so now I do weight lifting so I am more functional. A shortage of fresh litter is a powerful motivation.

Music helps me. Finding the songs that won't let you be calm can be nice trigger. Then the first step is just to turn it on and see what happens. Even when the result is some sort of ridiculous dance! 😉

I look for low impact exercises, that will move my body slowly and work it overtime, usually exercises for overweight people work best, they get me in the mood to work out and are just as hard to complete as any other exercise. I like aerobics, they make me feel lighter. Exercises that work on my back also release something that makes me feel good, I still am desmovitaved but at least I'm a bit happier

I think about all of the things that I struggle to do or can't do because of my physical limitations. I remember that this once day of exercising is helping me get back to the point where I can be more active with more ease and do all the things I'm missing out on. I also think about how hard things were when I first started and gauge how far I've already come. All that work would be for nothing if I skip today…which would probably lead to slipping up and skipping tomorrow. And the next day, and the next day, and the next… So I might as well keep at it!!

I ask myself the a few questions. For example: why I started doing this? Why I am I demotivated? Why not do it now? If not now then when? Etc. And when I have all the answers I am motivated again!

The best thing you can do is just start. Once you've started something, it's easier to see it through to the end. This is true for all things in life. False motivation is still motivation. However, knowing that you can ONLY change your Attitude and your Effort each day means something significant. That you ultimately choose how to behave and how to take care of yourself.
So I say, you can only change two things each day, your attitude and your effort. Which will it be?
