How much floss do you use when flossing each time ?

Fabulous CoachBehavioral Science AssistantRecommended AnswerAI Summary

When flossing, it’s generally recommended to use about 18 inches of floss for effective cleaning. This length allows you to wrap the ends around your fingers for better control and reach between all your teeth. Establishing a consistent flossing routine is essential for maintaining oral health and developing lasting healthy habits. Remember, the goal is not just to floss but to make it a meaningful part of your daily self-care ritual!

I just use the floss picks these days because they’re so much easier. Just one and done, haha. The times I do use actual floss, I’d probably say 10-12 inches.

Floss doesn’t really work for me bc my teeth are too tightly packed at the start and you should nvr ever force floss through ur teeth so instead i use interfering picks BUT only the ones with the little brush head and always using the smallest size. Take ur time. If you do this correctly and spend enough time getting every single tooth and doing it properly you only need do this once a day the dental hygienist told me"as you can damage ur gums doing too much". If you floss use enough to use a clean piece for every tooth and only use "oral b sensitive satin floss"the others are too coarse, too thick and cause more damage than good. Rmbr your gums are your teeth’s foundation , keep strong healthy gums&you’ll hv lovely pearly whites.

I use biodegradable floss sticks most of the time! When a habit is challenging to stick to or start up, it’s better to make things more accessible for yourself so it’s easier to stick with with!
