You could stretch for as long as you want. I would stretch until I feel less tense. I stretch for 5 to 10 minutes. I stretch morning and evening to loosen my body.
I normally stretch for 5 mins following a 30 mins workout. I also like to do simple stretches for about a minute or less throughout the day say while watching TV or working at my dest etc.
