How do you keep working out without losing motivation?

Maja Z.
I usually just stick to the “finish it” mentality anytime I don’t feel like working out. If I can’t do a rigorous exercise that day? 20 minutes of yoga. It’s still exercise, and I am not giving up on the habit. You don’t have to go hard ALL the time, you know. Some hard training days are good. But be kind to yourself on your off days. Work with your body, and just stick to finishing a simple workout on days your motivation is low. You’ll do just fine. 🙂

Focus on how your body is feeling after the workout, even if you’re really tired, just fall in love with the feeling of what you could do.

This is one of the few things you must do thinking about the future. About the result. It doesn’t need to be the distant future, you can run or workout focusing on the satisfaction of finishing the exercise. “This time I’m running X miles in Y minutes, it will be a great accomplishment” or “I will feel great at the end of the month if I lose q couple of pounds”

I like seeing my results. I make sure I’m working out in front of a mirror

Motivation isn’t my focus. I anchor myself on why I am doing it. I like to visualize my future self thanking me for sticking to my exercise plan.

I also try not to beat myself up on the days I dial it in or opt out. I try to do some stretching or a speed walk during the day when those days happen so it becomes a restful workout day versus a no workout day.

Think about the great results you will get afterwards.

It’s the determination you need to keep on going no matter what happens. I get motivated listening songs, reading books, self affirmations, visualisation, and note book writing . It’s essential how we end up our day and set up for the next day.
