How do we meditate? Like what are the steps? Or how could we focus and clear our minds?

The first time that I started meditation I searched guided meditation on YouTube, after a while and when. I don't have time or I am not in amood for the whole session, I close my eyes and take 3 deep breaths and I repeat to myself accordingly phrases that will calm me like "You have nowhere else to be right now", that I learned from the videos.
