lately i havnt really been disconnecting. i have been staying on my phone and on tiktok untill i get bored of it or decide it is time to sleep. i do think that disconnect from the internet and reducing my screen time helps me have a better sleep because it clears my mind and is more peaceful and less busy. i quite enjoy being by myself with my thoughts. one night this week i didnt go on my phone at bed time and i slept straight through from 9:30 pm to 8:54 am. i felt much better.
Andrea N.
Yes. Watching a nice movie helps, meditating, or reading a book help a lot for me. Disconnecting will let me sleep anyway, but for sure, disconnecting improves my wellness
Kimberly C.
Disconnecting helps me to manage my time and do better things rather than scrolling all over social media. It is also very refreshing and helps me get more done in the day and also more sleep.
Simon Y.
Well, it depends on how busy your mind is. I usually stay off electronics for about twenty to thirty minutes before bed. If I still can't sleep, I'll listen to a podcast or watch a video to help my mind focus on one thought and slow down. Hope this helps!!
Constance Y.
Yes it does help. When you use your phone or other device right before you sleep your brain become active and it’s harder to fall asleep. It’s really helpful to leave your device at least 30 minutes before you sleep
Thomas C.
Yes, disconnecting at night is a great thing to do, because it allows your brain to relax and helps you calm down before going to sleep.
Bella Z.
Disconnecting for the night helps because if you don’t disconnect then you might not go to sleep and you’ll be really tired the next day. If you’re tired then you won’t get anything done and you’ll Ben tempted to go to sleep at literally ANY time during the day.
Anna Maria Z.
It sometimes does, sometimes it doesn't. I like talking to my friends and kill my time on the phone by listening to my favourite songs, watching videos and other things, since I dont have much free time over the day. This is why I usually keep my phone in my room at night, for some me-time, even if that costs me my sleep. Though now I've started reading a book to calm me down and get my mind away, it doesnt work the same as the phone however, but it does make me feel sleepy quicker.
Boaz F.
Yes, it allows me to unwind and stop worrying about the day that has been and start preparing for the day that will come
Jonas Y.
It does to an extent but then my audio casts which helps me sleep are on my phone . So it’s a little
Hard not to look at the phone and trying to disconnect
Hard not to look at the phone and trying to disconnect
Teresa C.
if you have something to accomplish like reading or knitting, for sure. if you just lay there aimlessly, that tends to be too tedious
Misty U.
Yes, it makes sure i receive my required amount of healthy sleep, also gives my brain enough time to rest and be stress free
Sid Z.
Yes, I believe it has helped me to focus much more on my studying and I am beginning to make it a habit. It has created a good ending to my day as I have a night of being able to focus and relax after with out having to be distracted with the technology in my surroundings 😁
Nataka C.
I think it does you dont feel that stress of day that you have to finish that next and that day after you just feel really relaxed and go to sleep with positive mind
Reen S.
I need to try many times. I try last night. I feel sleepy but can't sleep until midnight. I would try again. Hoping I can have healthy lifestyle
Ver Nica A.
Yes definitely. I feel like if you go on your phone like 30 minutes before going to sleep really hurts your eyes and keeps you awake and more headaches definitely try it.
Mabel J.
I often find it hard to put away my phone before i go to bed but when I do, it gives the brain time to rest and i usually Sleep better
Anja M.
It definitely does help me. It feels as if you’re finishing the day with it. As if you’re like I’ve had this day and now I’m done with it. Doesn’t matter whether it was good or bad it’s over.
Duarte F.
I definetly think that it helps. It can be really hard to get off your phone. There are many things you can do instead of go on your phone before you sleep, or just in general. Reading is a great way to learn new things/words or to have fun. So is a hobby like knitting or crocheting! Or doodling 🙂
Meda X.
It helps control your bedtime. For example i used to stay up way past my bedtime cause i was on my phone or laptop and whenever i thought that i should put them down and go to sleep i was like "noo fivteen more minutes won't hurt"so now i realised it helps with this problem
Kemi N.
Yes I tend to experience the most anxiety and overthinking at night and it helps to have a wind down routine so I can get to sleep.
Mithra F.
No I will not because I want to be connected with fabulous always…I just love this app it reminds me to do my thing, exersice ,yoga, and breathe.. seriously I love it so I will be connected with FABULOUS MEMORIES of this app even if I delete it… Thank you
Naomi T.
Yes, it really does. I suffer from anxiety, so my mind is always on and buzzing, but I feel like the buzzing is quieter if I give myself a non device activity to do before bed. I really like to do sudokus, so doing one before bed really calms my mind and I find myself sleeping a lot better when I do this.
Susanna U.
Yea, I need to stop being on my phone so much at night. I need to unwind and think about what I’m great full for and what I’ve done in the past
Oscar U.
It definitely does. Disconnecting helped me focus on other more useful stuff such as reading for a good half an hour. Keeping away from the bright screen and the social media at night gives you the opportunity to focus on yourself more. You could even come up with your own little night ritual to prepare for a good night's sleep.
Deanne X.
Not yet but I think a long term habit is going to take a while to break then you have to break the second habit that came from the habit of playing with technology.
Lorien U.
Yes! Your phone keeps you awake because it’s constantly distracting you with new things and notifications. I’ve found that creating a space without my phone within arms-reach helps me go to bed earlier and faster.
Jay F.
Disconnecting for the night does help. Convincing yourself to disconnect gets easier and easier as you try each night. Start with a doable goal. If you’re a “night person” like me start with achievable time intervals until you’re able to disconnect by 9pm.
Sonya G.
I never allowed myself to take the phone to the bedroom. It is set to “Do not disturb” between 10 p.m and 6 a.m. My sleep and my nights are very important to me. I don’t need to be connected to the world 24/7.
Jeppe G.
It definitely helped to put my phone down and not look at it for a long time. I did still watch TV but that's the next step.
Sravz N.
Yes it certainly helps. I can sleep with my own thoughts and I am learning to control my thoughts and thinking good things is my aim for now
Charlie N.
Absolutely!! I honestly don’t completely disconnect but just listening to music and reading or calming down while being on my phone/device for as little as possible does seem to help my sleep
Alexandre Z.
Yes, it does help very much. By disconnecting, I can close my eyes and focus on myself and my thoughts, the way my body is asking to recharge and… I dont know how to refer to it in another way but meditate… Disconnecting allows me to to calm down to a point where my mind travels my body, I create my stories, I elaborate ideas and at the same time… I unplug all my real life problems…
I go to this state wher I'm not a boy whose mind is confused and troubled… I start being one of my characters and I built my own story where everything, good or bad, is decided by me and I can solve all my problems. There is always someone there for me. And if there isn't, then I'm confident enough to be able to deal with my life on my own and to bring new people to my life where I confidently live as the main character.

…
Disconnecting from the outside world it's the best thing I could ever do. Probably not the best for my depression… But definetly the best for my sanity… As I escape from this excruciatingly painful world we live in… To a world where I can be whatever I want…
Sophie O.
Most definitely because it helps your mind switch off from the day from phones and laptops so you can fall asleep easier because you are thinking less about the day just gone, especially a stressful one!
M Nica C.
Yes! It has helped me a lot with sleeping easily. I usually spend more than 15 minutes falling asleep but when I disconnect myself from everything half an hour before going to sleep, I’m falling asleep almost immediately!
Chloe U.
yes! i feel so much better because using instagram and social media causes a lot of stress and i feel better whiteout that stress
Lino T.
Disconnecting for the night helps call my mind before going to bed. When I have to work late it hard to calm my mind. Times working late is necessary but I try to avoid it as much as I can. I like to watch TV to wind down. I’m not sure if that’s also considered unplugging.
Victoria W.
Yes, it does! It makes me feel more aware of what's happening around me, in the real world. It also makes me feel like I'm doing something good, and that makes me happy!
Byron G.
Sometimes. I have trouble sleeping so when I disconnect I feel more bored and so I sleep however I do like to watch ASMR before sleeping
Jeanne Z.
Yes, I feel as though I use social media as an escape and it works quite well and I never see a problem with it. I feel happier when I’m off it.
Shane C.
I didn't think it will help that much, but it did!. I use it to disconnect from my phone and fall asleep at night and its fabulous!
Jessica M.
Yes. Disconnecting from your electronic devices helps to get a better night's sleep. The reason why is because of the light that the devices emit when you look at their screens. To be a little more specific, the blue light the screens show is the biggest factor that throws off your sleep schedule and prevents you from having a good night's rest. So if you want a good rest for the night, then disconnecting from electronics can make a big difference. If you find it hard to break away from electronics during the night, then there are a few things that can help : you can either read a book, write in your journal, even draw, anything that's not related to your phone or computer is going to help you get a better rest. I hope it helps. Sweet dreams. 😴
Esma N.
Yes it does , and at first it’s boring but then you’ll understand how relaxing it actually is , well for me then you of course
Scribella N.
Honestly, not really. It always takes me a while to get to sleep, but once I’m off, I sleep pretty well and usually get 8 hours. Disconnecting has actually disrupted that.
Alizee Q.
Diconnecting does help a lot cuz your brain also needs rest from all the hustle of the day and relax itself… So yes disconnect from the social world at night and listen to your favourite song and sleep after wards
Julia W.
It really does! I enjoy being able to wind down after a long day. I spend more time on reading books, meditating and stretching, which is great!
Zoya U.
Yes disconnecting for the night helps because phones release dopamine to the brain making you want to use it more which will make it more difficult to sleep since you're interested on the phone and might struggle to get off it.
Ava V.
I don't know if disconnecting helps but the activities I do before sleeping definitely helps. Like reading a book or listening to music helps a lot & relaxes me.
Aakash I.
Yes, I disconnect at least ½hr to 1 hour before sleeping and I gets time for my diary and manifestation…..before I used to use mobile till my eyes shuts automatically, and random negative thoughts also overcome me but since I practicing this disconnect method I used that 1 hour to heal myself.
Jeet W.
Yes I guess so. But if we have a habit of keep using electronic devices then it might take some time but I think it will definitely help to get a better sleep. Thanks.
Candii N.
I definitely think it does! But make it work for you! For me, the suggested disconnection methods are extreme. Although I wish I were able to turn off the wifi and leave my phones where they would not even be a temptation, it’s not feasible for me personally or professionally (medical on-call). I did however modify my behavior to mimic the suggestions as best I can. I use the “do not disturb” function so that after a certain hour only calls from specific numbers will ring- this eliminates a spam call jarring me out of sleep, thus requiring a phone to be in my hand, and scrolling into the abyss because I can’t get back to sleep. There is now a dedicated area so they can be heard, easily accessed, but are otherwise out of view. The time limit features, bedtime reminders and parental controls are also pretty helpful once you identify what you need to make disconnecting a benefit. I keep my Kindle paperwhite with me for when I do wake and can’t just snooze again. There are no blue light issues and I can read, relax and engage without over stimulation and can usually fall back asleep within an hour. My sleep quality has improved greatly and I am less groggy on less hours in bed. Hope that helps! 🖤🌙 ⭐️ 💤
Katrine W.
It helps a lot. Bright lights simulate day time and the activities you perform on the internet keep the mind active and awake, causing you to sleep late.
Laurita Q.
Actually I don't do it… So I can't really say much about it. However, one time I tried it and it really helped me get a better night sleep. Of course it is best to disconnect but if you don't, it's fine!!
Lucas C.
Yes it does, it actually helps to relax the mind. You can meditate or spend time with your family other than be on the electronics. As I said earlier it helps relax the mind and you can have some peace and quiet.
Vanessa U.
In the last days i was way more comfortable and i was sleeping much better but i had to do some Things on my Telephone too. I try to concentrate more and i Reader way more and some
Mar N.
Definitely! My job depends on my being almost 24/7 in my phone and connected to the internet, so disconnecting some time before bedtime keeps me grounded and in touch with the reality. It’s hard to slow down the pace when you are 8 hours running in social media but it’s worth it.
Nevaeh X.
Yes. This is because it gives my eyes time to adjust to the darkness of my bedroom & it calms me preparing me to get a good nights rest
Izzy N.
yes it does it makes me think about my surroundings and focus on me more, and not continuously scroll through media looking at others lives, wishing that was me
Fred E.
It does but we need to create a society where people feel that it’s okay to disconnect from social media, work responsibilities, homework, etc. because we cannot ignore the real life consequences of choosing to “disconnect”
Andrew L.
Well, for me it kinda does , cause I am able to fall asleep sooner, however because my environment is so noisy I still take about an hour to fall asleep
Taciane P.
I believe disconnecting really does help, as it allows your brain time to slow down instead of working at full speed until you exhaust yourself. I have found personally it feels nice to just switch everything off and forget what is coming, like the saying "out of sight, out of mind".
There is also the evidence science has shown us about disconnecting. Looking at a blue screen (which is all electronic devices) is basically like looking outside during the daytime; the same light is produced by these things. This is not useful when you are trying to go to sleep, as it tricks your mind into thinking it is still daytime. Turning off allows you to fix this.
E G.
It definitely helps, I notice much better sleep when I’ve disconnected. The lack of blue light is super noticeable by the time I wake up.
Ava Y.
Definitely. When I turn off my screen for the night, I feel calmer. I have time to read and do my entire evening routine without feeling the need to glance at my text messages every 5 seconds.
Sharad P.
Yes, significant improvement in the time difference between you lying down and you entering sleep. Usually, it took me around 1-2 hrs sometimes more to reach that state and because of my morning routine which deadset on committing to, I'd get up by 6. This was causing serious repercussions on my focus while doing something. Now that I'm disconnecting at night, although it still takes me around half an hour but I'm sure to get a good night's sleep. Hope this helps.
Sofia Z.
It certainly does! And I love it honestly. I’m a university student and things get super busy sometimes with all the projects and exams. The worst part is all these group chats that are always talking about work to do and people that message you about the same thing…I disconnect and I have no temptation to check something, I have no noise bothering me and I can spend time reading a book or listening a podcast – which is waaaay better
Romane A.
Yes! very much, it helps relax and take your mind away and when my head is not busy I sleep so much better because Im not worrying.
Riley P.
Yes it does it relaxes me . And makes me forget about any stress . Takes me to a fabulous feeling . And makes tired to be able to fall asleep
Hanne Lore Z.
It absolutely does! It's okay to watch a movie on Netflix or look at Instagram right before bed sometimes, ut I have found that I get so much less anxious and that I sleep much better if I quietly read, journal, meditate, or do something else instead before I fall asleep!
Cassidy F.
Yes, absolutely. I personally have a very hard time disconnecting, but I think it’s worth it in the long run for better sleep. I like waking up feeling rested. If it’s difficult to fully disconnect, just start small. Nothing that’s super exciting or that gets you all worked up at least an hour before bed. If you’re going to use your phone, television, or laptop before sleeping, do something boring or relaxing. Hope this helps!
Judd X.
making the effort to disconnect from the screen before bed can help me to sleep better, reconnect to my inner selves, and wake up more recharged.
Rachel T.
I believe that it does, especially for me. I have major anxiety and taking that time to just disconnect from social media, TV, etc. Just laying down in bed in the darks listening to ambient soundscapes is soothing. Just allowing your mind to relax and not focus on anything but the soothing sounds.
M Lton P.
In my opinion, disconnecting for the night is one of the best things I do now. The reason why is because doing so gives me time to decompress my thoughts and go with my emotional flow.
Amber P.
Yes! It helps in many ways some of which are, at least for me: getting a better night sleep, being able to calm down and focus on the remaining tasks in the evening (so you can finish them quickly and go to sleep sooner), resting your eyes, and resting your mind from all the news. I really belive anyone can benefit from using their electronics less or not at all in the evening 🙂
Aurelia F.
it's somewhat help, its reduces my anxiety since the vibe of a city is really stink my skin. the forest is closer to home
Kaitlyn U.
It does for me. I stretch and meditate right before I go to bed and after I set my alarms and such for the next morning. I’ve found that even though it’s been less than a month or so, it’s easier for me to fall asleep (I normally take a whole alternate reality dream scenario at least) and that I feel calmer and more relaxed when I finally lie down for the night. I think the meditation is the most helpful part for me because it quiets my brain and I feel more centered and focused on the present which makes it easier to fall asleep (less what if’s and should haves)
Simone F.
Absolutely. I have suffered from anxiety and insomnia for many years now. I have found, however, that logging off 30 minutes to an hour before bed helps my brain to wind down. Disconnecting from the outside world helps me to relieve the stress and anxiety that comes along with comparison, social media, work/school… all the things.
Marshall Y.
Yes. I wind down a lot easier. I also find myself focusing on what is important to me, rather than losing valuable time surfing around addictive social media.
Maria Z.
Yes. The eletronic devices can take us good nights of sleep. So, we need to put away our devices at least one hour before going to bed.
Maria Y.
Yes it does! You should also make it a habit to go into a quiet and dark place with some music to allow your inner peace to awaken. I did this for the first time yesterday and I have never slept better!
Carol X.
For me disconnecting for the night helps for better sleep I feel that the more time I spend in front of a screen the harder it is to fall asleep I usually grab a good book and wrap myself in a blanket I promise it makes for the best sleep
Lilith N.
I would say disconnecting for the night does help, yes. Taking a step back and just breathing, looking outside, and relaxing while not having to worry about anything or checking my phone feels therapeutic.
Elizabeth N.
So far it has helped. I used to watch videos until I fell asleep but would wake up frequently. I think maybe it was more of a stimulant than I realized. The last couple night I haven’t woke up as much and felt better rested. I recommend unplugging for sure
Maureen C.
Disconnecting for the night did help me! I was doubtful because I have a sleep disorder called Idiopathic Hypersomnia where I’m more tired than the average person due to poor quality sleep, and I need more sleep than average. My doctor and I finally found a medicine that helps with some of the symptoms causing my sleep quality to be poor. However, since I can pretty much always fall asleep in my bed and have to fight to not doze off early, I thought electronics wouldn’t matter. It turns out that disconnecting is a good idea for me anyway. I can put my phone on Do Not Disturb mode, use the time to care for myself or quietly do something I enjoy, and I wind up with more refreshing sleep. I’m also not going to bed angry or anxious about something mean somebody said to me on social media.
Valesca Q.
Yes it does help, immensely. I get better quality sleep, fall asleep easier and faster, and can sleep uninterrupted due to disconnecting from technology and blue light waves. It also gives me an opportunity to reconnect with my lifelong passion of reading, as I use my disconnect time to read a chapter or two of a book, which is much more enriching and relaxing than playing on my cell phone is.
Reza I.
I think yes. If you're on your phone or doing other stuff that takes a lot of mental power, your mind is constantly running around you know. I love going to bed a little earlier just to read a book for at least half an hour, just to be able to really relax before closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep. The reading makes me sleepy, which helps with falling asleep faster. I have less time to overthink everything and because my brain/mind has had time to disconnect from the world, it's less present if you understand what I mean. You disconnect, you rest and the rest of the world will drift away to the back of your mind, becoming less present. Which makes it easier for me at least to fall asleep.
Sreelakshmi F.
Yes it helped a lot, before starting this habit i used to stare at screen until past midnight or long time than that… because so this my sleep cycle was completely bad.. which in turn spoiled my day.. because of this i was having a hard time in life..but after starting this habit a lot changed..my sleep cycle was good for the past 2 days, because I got a good night sleep i was able to be more productive, happy and energetic,I'm feeling a great change after doing this for just 2 days..so i won't break habit…
Lizzy N.
For me sometimes, but i have horrible insomnia and my mind just stays running. But it’s different for everyone! never be afraid to give it a try!!!!
