When meditating, do you lock on one thought/action or let your mind roam?

No not really but it goes back to the meditation but now it goes less I feel calm and free usually I’m always angry but meditation calms me

I think of a lot of things. I focus on my breath, and once I feel like I am connected to it, I think good thoughts towards my day, myself, and other people!
