What enticed you to begin journaling?

Dulce Z.
My therapist always tells me to write. That it’s the best thing I can do when I feel anxious and overwhelmed. Therefore I wanted to find a way to make it fun and pretty. And here I am, journaling on paper.

I used to use journaling to quiet my racing thoughts when I was frustrated, overwhelmed, confused about a situation. This was very helpful, but it’s not very sustainable as a habit. Getting into the practice of gratitude journaling became easier after I experienced a loss, and then my therapist encouraged me to use journaling and a Pinterest board to visualize my ideal life while I decide on a career to pursue. I hope that one day I will have room for more creativity in my journaling and thoughts. For now calming my mind and renewing motivation are enticing enough.
