Hey, I have that exact problem sometimes. In order to combat waking up. I stop drinking anything about 2 hours before bed and also stop surfing and watching tv about 30 minutes before bed. Then I put on some meditation music or binaural beats music and relax and let me m I ne focus on what I am hearing. If I wake up in the night then it's usually a nightmare and shaking that off after it wakes you up can be a challenge. Sometimes I will have to completely refocus my mind and watch or read something to start thinking of somethjng else. Hope that helps 🙂
