How do you make exercise a part of your routine when your day just gets crazy busy or you get sick or something else derails you? How do you make sure you get that going when you miss days?
To make exercise a consistent part of your routine, focus on flexibility and resilience. When life gets busy or you’re unwell, prioritize short, manageable workouts or even gentle movements. Create a plan that accommodates unexpected changes, and remember that consistency is key. If you miss days, don’t be hard on yourself; instead, reflect on your goals and re-establish your routine gradually. Incorporate meaningful daily rituals, like setting a specific time for exercise, to help you stay on track and maintain your commitment.
I think a big part is intentionally carving out time in your schedule for your workouts. Sometimes unexpected stuff happens, and it’s fine to miss, but I personally find that having my workout on my google calendar and having to intentionally move it to a different time slot helps remind me to do it. As far as being sick goes, listen to your body. Sometimes with something like a cold you can do gentle yoga or stretches while sick, but obviously listen to yourself and your doctor first.
