Yes! I used to struggle with it as well, and still do sometimes but it's a great way to work on your back's flexibility.

It does. This was something that I struggled with in the beginning as well. Overtime it gets easier as your back gets used to it, but it also gets easier as you learn to shut out everything while meditating.
