No, it does not count as long as you follow some rules.
1, your device is facing the other way or the screen is completely off.
2, your device is far away from you so you will not be tempted to check messages (set your device’s notifications to silent and Vibration off).
3, your device’s podcast or sleep story is at a reasonable volume so you will be able to drift away to sleep when ready.

I’d consider it as yes, but it could also be an exception. The point of plugging out is not just to get off the Internet and phone, but also to give your mind a chance to relax. However, if you are listening to a story or a relaxing potcast, I’d say you could count it as beig plugged out, unless you’ll keep listening to the next story or a podcast again and again

No, I don’t think it does. As long as you aren’t completely dependent on it to sleep it should be okay. Hope that helped!
