There are a few tricks I've learned over the years… I'm 35 and I still struggle with it! First, I turn on some music, something that I always like to sing and dance to. It starts revving me up. Then, I immediately make the bed. Making the bed is one of the simplest tasks you can do, and it really gets you in tbe 'cleaning mode'. I then sort everything into piles of like items. Clothes, craft supplies, books, school stuff etc. Then make sure all the trash is thrown away. I decide which pile of stuffs to start with, and just work on the one pile until I'm done with it 😁. Make sure you take breaks, short(ish) and often! I also drink lots of water and sometimes allow a little snack on my breaks. I've noticed that when I take breaks, as long as I'm honest with myself about getting back to cleaning, it makes it feel like less of a chore. I really stress on the making sure I get back to cleaning because I have a hard time with procrastination. And if I'm singing and dancing every so often, it keeps my energy up ♥️ good luck! And remember, not every 'one way' will do the trick. You gotta find what's right for you and often that means taking ideas from multiple people and creating your own perfect way.

I don’t get bored because I try to put like a song on that I can listen to while I clean my room I try todo things first that I like then things I don’t like like cleaning my room I start with things I like then I go and clean my room later when I am feeling more motivation I start with things I like first then I go and do the things I don’t like put something on that will make u feel excited todo things like move around when u do homework or clean run do exercises before u do things don’t just stand in one place hopefully that makes sense

It can be tough at first but keeping things organised and clean day to day is actually much easier to manage than saving it up into an unpleasant chore. By being proactive and having things organised, reflects your character

You can put on music and enjoy your music while you are cleaning your bed room and after you clean your room you can have a dance party

I listen to music while cleaning that helps me from getting bored and if I do get bored eventually I just take a short break

I try and look at how I want my room and imagine it clean and what spots and spaces I can use for certain things like gaming/comfy corner, drawing area ect.

Hi!! I love doing things that are boring (cleaning my room is definitely one of them!) while listening to music, so, instead of getting bored, I just do it while singing and dancing!

I see it as being productive even if it involves sometimes turning on music while I'm doing it or doing something like going through my clothes and seeing what I don't wear anymore and give it away or something like that it makes me feel better knowing my room is organized and clean but at your age it tended to get boring for me also

Great question! One that I’m still trying to answer myself. For me, my problem is getting distracted. Take a deep breath and envision what you want to improve in the next hour. Make it reasonable and set a timer. Get to work! On that one section you intended to clean over the next hour. Clean in manageable time chunks, so you don’t overwhelm yourself. And a big one, turn your phone on silent, and keep it out of sight while you tidy!

Hey!! 12yr old here (new besties lmao)! I like using music.. sometimes putting o a show (but it takes longer to finish w this)! Also do it in parts, there’s diff parts you could pick like you’ll do your bed first and then everything green/blue (just an example)!!
