Yes! I feel that meditation is more effective as I am more familiar with it. I am more familiar with what gets my attention away from my focus and I am more able to use it when I need it in daily life.

In my experience it does but it is unpredictable. You just notice the change and continue on. I traditionally use guided meditation so your results may be very different.
