I tend to read at bedtime, when I get too sleepy to concentrate. How can I find the discipline to read during waking hours?

Schedule in your planner or calendar a time you would like to read. Give yourself a time. 20 minutes 60 minutes and so on… commit to showing up at that scheduled time. Choose a relaxing and quiet space to enjoy your read. Keep doing it and you’ll create a new habit of reading during the day.
