Am I a bit of a coward if I have a hard time reading a more raw realistic fiction book (for example, discussions of SA, racism, ethnic cleansing, etc)? It’s not that I can’t read it, it just makes me hesitate for some reason, and I kinda feel bad for feeling as such. How do I power through it easier if I am a bit weak-hearted?

Of course not, I personally can’t imagine anyone feeling eager or excited to read those kind of things. They’re heavy topics, they’re hard to talk about for many and are correspondingly hard to read or write about as well. SA, racism, ethnic cleansing, etc. are the darker parts of reality and the fact you can read it at all shows courage.

Not at all!!😅😅. If anything, I think it’s quite brave that that’s how you feel but you still keep at it, you go🌼. Umm, I’d say the best way to go through it is slowly, that’s what I think. You don’t have to read a whole chapter in a day, just a page, or two, or whatever is comfortable for you. Whenever you feel your hesitation coming up, take a break, take a little walk or something like that.
You’ll do great, I’m sure ☺️☺️🩷
