How Pod writes an episode
Every article on Pod is written by AI from the episode's own transcript, and published only after a set of mechanical checks passes. This page is exactly how that works.
Where the words come from
Each article starts from the episode's own audio — the public file the show publishes in its feed. Pod transcribes it with timestamps, so every sentence can be traced back to the minute it was said. We do not use show notes, press releases, or other people's summaries as the source.
What the AI does
A language model reads the full transcript and writes the canonical edition of the episode: a short brief, the key takeaways, an article in plain English, the quotes worth keeping, the protocols the guest actually described, and the questions a reader would search for. It is asked to name the studies, books, and people mentioned, to skip sponsor reads and tangents, and never to address a particular reader. The same article is shown to everyone.
What we check before it can be published
- Quotes are verbatim. Every quote is compared against the transcript. A quote that does not appear in the episode is removed, not paraphrased.
- It is an article, not a summary. Pages under the length and readability bar are rejected and regenerated, not padded.
- It has substance. An episode without real, on-topic material does not get a page — even from a show we love.
- Nothing is injected. The article's markup is restricted to plain text structure; anything else is stripped before storage.
How it goes live
An article publishes when every check above passes and the verification pass found nothing to flag — no quote it had to drop, no claim it could not trace to the transcript. An article that fails any of that is held back for review instead of published. The Fabulous team spot-checks published pages, and every page can be corrected or removed after the fact. What we never publish
Full transcripts — the episode belongs to the people who made it. Personalized content — the public edition is the same for everyone; anything tailored to a listener stays inside the Pod app. Medical, financial, or legal advice — we report what was said and who said it.
