Simple carbs release energy quickly, more complex carbs release energy slower, and slower still is a high protein part of your breakfast. In fact, healthy fats are a good solution as well. Avocados and peanut butter are both fairly high protein and contain some good fats. Your body needs the right amount of all three to function at its best.
