hoarding is a slippery slope from clinging to things out of sentimentality. it\u2019s hard to let go of things especially if you feel they might be useful later on, or hold a memory you\u2019re afraid of losing. for the things you\u2019re keeping for their potential usefulness, give yourself a time limit to keep the item (depending on what it is, maybe a month maximum). if you haven\u2019t done said project or used the item for its potential purpose by that time, toss it. for the sentimental items, find an active way to keep them. either work it into home decor or start an album collection. if it doesn\u2019t have a place in your home, it shouldn\u2019t have a place in your life. if if the sentiment is rooted in a person you\u2019ve lost, ask yourself if that person would rather you live in a functional space that makes you happy rather than prioritizing objects that clutter your life. it\u2019s about people, not things.<\/div>\n<\/div>
