One guy, a bodybuilder, was following a &#39;snake diet&#39; where he would eat as much protein and saladp as he could in an hour every morning but avoiding carbohydrates. He had a load of physiological tests done on his cardio-vascular system and  bone density and after a month of training his test results had all improved. I&#39;m pretty sure a balanced fruit or vegetarian diet would give the same results purely because the digestive system wouldn&#39;t be confused with an incompatible mixture of starch and protein. It&#39;s a bit like putting oil in the petrol tank or using brake fluid to top up the battery in your car.
