But when I find myself in a situation where I can\u2019t get myself out of an evil cycle of bad and anxious thoughts I try to exercise or go for a walk. That could be in nature or in the city it dose not matter the main thing is that you can focus on your body\u2019s movements one step at a time instead of let\u2019s say an anxious thought. This has helped me a lot and it\u2019s very good to get a quick fix and get to your \u201cnormal\u201d self (even though these thoughts are totally normal to have and shouldn\u2019t be stigmatised as abnormal). BUT what I find to work best in the long run is to sit with the thoughts for a while. Let them absorb you, cry if you have to, don\u2019t if you don\u2019t have to. Just do whatever works. Let yourself be in that uncomfortable state and then try to just let go.
