We forgot to acknowledge what we already have- a body that functions, a home that shelters us, a car that gets us where we need to go, a job that provides us some means.  The world is what it is.  How we view it is our decision to make.  Positive thinking- see the good in the world is a choice.  You have to actively acknowledge the things that you value in your life and in the world.  So, instead of lamenting what you lack, celebrate what you cherish.  <\/p>\n<p>Every morning, I get out of bed and drink a glass of water.  (It was my first goal and I made it a habit).  It\u2019s a simple thing, right?  Here\u2019s what I have to be grateful for in that simple habit.  I\u2019m grateful to have a bed to sleep in, that I can get up every morning and not be in pain, that my body still works, to have electricity and a refrigerator that make it possible to have cold water every morning, that the water from the tap is safe to drink and that I have my own little house so that I don\u2019t have to put on clothes to do this. For example everyday I try to set a timer for 5 minutes. During that 5 minutes I close my eyes and say everything I\u2019m grateful for. For example, rather than taking your car for granted if you use it to drive to work every day, think about what it would be like it you didn\u2019t have your car. You wouldn\u2019t be able to drive to work, so you would have to take public transport or walk, which aren\u2019t as comfortable and would take much longer. Even on the worst days, there is always something good that has happened if you look for it. Did someone smile at you from across the street? Did something you&#39;d been expecting finally arrive? Did you do something you found challenging and succeed?
