To much sleep is anything over like 9 hours or so. I only know this because I have a terrible sleeping schedule that starts my day feeling crappy. A way to help maintain a good sleep schedule is to unwind about 45 mins before you\u2019d like to go to bed. Take a hot shower or bath. Relax with some warmth and maybe a cozy book or something of that sort to relax your brain rather than stimulate it with lights and sounds. And then try putting relaxing sounds on of your choice. I would say if your need to sleep (excessive tiredness or oversleeping) is impacting your ability to do a normal&#x2F;healthy amount of daily activities, it may be time to talk to a doctor in case your fatigue is a symptom of an underlying disorder. Among the adults over 25, under normal circumstances, anything above 10 hours is considered too much. An adult who&#39;s not up all night long, usually needs between 7-8 hours of sleep. If you are living a healthy life (as in you have enough daily motion, you eat properly, you don&#39;t drink extensively or don&#39;t use any medication&#x2F;recreational drugs, etc.) your body will start its signaling to go to bed around 21.00 or 22.00. Some push this window but the problem is, just like food, there is a window that you need to sleep otherwise your body will go into alert mode and considers the situation as a treat hence you&#39;ll feel a kick and suddely you&#39;re awake again. It can make you more focused and ready for the day and reduce anxiety and stress. However, sleeping a lot can be some peoples way of coping with depression or other mental illnesses, causing them to sleep for many many hours. I\u2019m this case, it\u2019s unhealthy. I guess the best way to know what your body needs is to let it direct you. Less than that is not so good although depending on your age, 7 or even 6 hours is okay. (I would say 6 for people over 40) Now, more sleep is no trouble for you body itself. But you do want to know that from 11 hours(Daily), it&#39;s a bit unnecessary and you may be using that time for something else. Also, oversleeping is often related to some conditions like depression and you may find that you&#39;re skipping breakfast because of that extra time in bed. 8 hours is the best, 9 is totally good and 10 are unnecessary yet okay. I think too much sleeping (on weekdays) is if you aren&#39;t able to get everything you want to get done, however if you are like me and get barely 8 hours without everything done, don&#39;t make it even less. On weekends, I don&#39;t think there is a limit. Lest your body rest and relax. Who cares? I googled it and it says over 9 hours is a bit too much. But, I think you need to listen to your body. If you are tired, your body will require more sleep. If you wake up naturally, i.e. without the help of an alarm, you should not get back to sleep as it is your body telling you that it is charged up. Going back to sleep after that would require energy and you will wake up tired. But it can easily become a habit.
