And as a teen, I discovered the books of Grace Livingston Hill (particularly &quot;Marcia Schuyler,&quot; &quot;The Substitute Guest,&quot; and &quot;Crimson Roses&quot;), whose strong characters gave me life goals, and whose beautiful, powerful writing showed me what storytelling could be. All these books are part of the reason I&#39;m a writer today.<br \/>\nAs an adult, I find continual help and inspiration in Norman Vincent Peale&#39;s &quot;The Power of Positive Thinking.&quot; Peale has changed the way I think, for the better. Others that have helped me craft a successful mindset are &quot;Who Dares Wins&quot; by Bob Mayer and &quot;Beyond the Summit&quot; by Todd Skinner.<br \/>\nAnd most of all, the Bible has changed my life. Without it, and without authors like Hill and Peale to help me understand it, I would not have the joy in the face of struggles that I do today.
